Head Coach
Allison Whittemore was promoted to Head Coach of Colby Field Hockey to start the 2022 season after being an assistant coach since 2018.
Before coming to Mayflower Hill, Whittemore had a standout Division I playing career at Providence College from 2015-2018. She was team captain during the 2018 campaign and was a consistent starter in the attack for the Friars. In addition to her success on the field, Whittemore excelled in the classroom by earning BIG EAST weekly honor roll and BIG EAST All-Academic Team honors throughout her career. During her time as a college athlete, Whittemore competed internationally in Belgium, Germany and Holland.
Whittemore is a native of Cornville, Maine and played for legendary head coach and recent Maxprep's National Field Hockey Coach of the Year, Paula Doughty.
Whittemore was a four-year starter and team captain for Skowhegan Area High School. Winning every game of her high school career, she was named Miss Maine Field Hockey Player of the Year in 2013, recognizing her as the top player in the state. In addition to garnering First Team All-State, Morning Sentinel Player of the Year, and Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference (KVAC) Player of the Year, Whittemore was named a Portland Press Herald and Maine Field Hockey Association All-State selection as a junior and Harrow Sports/NFHCA All-Region pick (New England).
Whittemore brings a diverse coaching background to Colby. She has experience as the Head Coach of the Maine Majestix Field Hockey Club and has worked countless camps and clinics for youth level and college-age athletes.
Whittemore's sister, Caitlyn, is a Colby College graduate and was a three-year starter and captain for the field hockey team from 2008-2012. With deep family ties to Colby, Whittemore grew up following, supporting and cheering for Colby Field Hockey.
